Domino - Web Sites

This web site is in fact a Lotus Notes database that is served to the web by Domino (the server side element of Notes).

The advantages of creating and managing a web site in this way are enormous. With a traditionally designed web site content management becomes a problem. How many web sites do you see that are out of date the moment they are published on the web ? With a correctly designed and implemented Domino site it is possible for a company to take full editorial control of their site and keep it as up to date as they want it to be.

The pages within this site are created by us in a word processor like interface without the need for any complicated HTML coding. Once they are saved, they are immediately on the web and correctly indexed in the appropriate part of the site. No re-writing of links or complicated publishing is involved !

A user needs no knowledge of HTML or design. They just type & use simple cut & paste techniques to create a page. Domino does the rest for them.

This is achieved by creating a special Lotus Notes database which is edited internally via Lotus Notes client software or externally via the web on a secure user basis.

This site is relatively simple and took just a couple of days development work to achieve.
