PSWinCom Professional - Add On Modules


The Add-on's is a collection of different interfaces between a user or another software, and the message queue of the Server. The intention of the Add-on's is to make it easy to provide message sending capabilities to users and other software products. You may use one or more of the Add-on's simultaneously, on one or more PC's on the same LAN as the Server.

All Add-on's can be installed and used free of charge, as long as they are used together with the PSWinCom Server as the message engine. The alternative to using an Add-on is to write message files directly to the message queue of the Server. Each Add-on is installed (or updated or uninstalled) by the main Setup of PSWinCom Professional.

The current available Add-on's for PSWinCom Professional are as follows:

Message Services
An ActiveX DLL (COM) component to use as a link to the message queue and logs of the PSWinCom Server. Used by other applications and in ASP web pages to send messages and check the status of sent messages.

Micro Client
A very small and simple user interface for manually sending messages. Ideal for sporadic use, sending test messages etc.

Standard Client
A client for manual sending, with predefined receivers and groups. Can be used both on a single PC or by several users on a LAN. A broad range of message properties can be specified, including sending of Ringing tones, Logos and "Immediate Display" SMS.

Textfile Transmitter
Picks up messages from files with different text formats produced by other applications.

DDE Link
Acts as a DDE server, receiving DDE messages from other Windows applications.

Command Link
A small exe file to be executed with command line arguments specifying the message text and receiver number.

Mail Link
Picks up incoming mail to a dedicated POP-3 mail box, enabling users and systems to send messages via Mail (Lotus Notes, Outlook, Outlook Express etc.)
